Dirty Pretty Strings back up the band. The Glastonbury flag tradition is punctuated by a masked man flag near the front and an old-school blue and red one too. Serge performs a cover of Gnarls Barkley into Take Aim, giving it a West Ryder feel. It’s legendary roadie Rick’s birthday, so he comes onstage and gets a chant from the crowd. Noel Fielding appears on the big screen during the encore before appearing onstage in his old cameo role. Bobby Womack is mentioned in Vlad the Impaler repeatedly.

notes: For the first time ever, Kasabian play their debut album in full and front to back. The gig smashed the previous record for longest gig as well as most songs played in one show (by six). It’s their fifth gig at The Roundhouse and fourth appearance at the iTunes Festival (2007, 2009 and 2011 previously). During the first set, the band chose not to talk, to recreate the experience of listening to the album in full. iTunes streamed this half in black and white.
